We have project team that is using multiple modules in shareable edit mode for their elicitation sessions with the client. The module is set up for sharing but as they add new sections it does not inherit the setting for sharing, we have to do it manually.
We dont provide admin access to the users and I support all administrative tasks for all projects using DOORS. Can I get the script that helps take care of of so that the user can run the script everytime he/she adds a new section without asking me for help. It would make it easier for the user to be able to do this.
I guess if I can give them a script that unchecks the "inherit access" check box for all of the objects at a certain level (whatever they are set to for sharing in the specific module), then they can run it when they add new sections..
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

You cannot modify Object access rights while in shared mode.
What I did here was to create a bunch of dummy objects at the bottom that have inheritance turned off (while I could get Exclusive access); and when I need a new shared section stat (while others are in Shared mode) I can lock sections, move the object, and populate it.
-
lock the dummy object
-
lock the dummy object's parent section
-
lock the section into which the dummy object will be moved (below), or the section previous (after).
-
cut the dummy object, paste one-level-down (or after) as needed.
I tend to unlock-save-all after the move, and then lock the section and proceed.
